The local media have nicknamed Linnea Uunila Squamish’s IronKid following her many competitive achievements since age 7.  Linnea is a true multi-sport athlete who pursues triathlon, swimming, trail running, cycling, and cross-country skiing.  She has successfully competed in over 150 races across United States and Canada and has a resume normally reserved for athletes much older.

Linnea - Uunila

In the last few years, this 13 year old has won triathlons in Hawaii and Arizona, the Canada Open Water Swim Series, and the 5 Peaks trail run series to name a few.  She was also the Queen of the Mountain (under 19) stage winner at last year’s Whistler Grand Fondo – a 122 km cycling race from Vancouver to Whistler.  For her FEAT presentation, Linnea will reflect on one of her passions, open water swimming, and describe how she became one of the few 11-year olds to escape from Alcatraz.

Looking forward to hearing from this talented young lady at our show is April!
